I firstly came thru this syndrome during anatomy lecture. It's a medical condition of pain and weakness in the hand, caused by repeated pressure on a nerve in the wrist. Initially i don't really understand what will it looks like, i just know ape hand resulted and the individual will not be able to oppose thumb due to the median nerve injuries.
I can't even answer well when it came out in the exam. :S Describe the carpal tunnel syndrome. What the heck you want me to describe this with 7 marks given? :S
sigh..results coming out soon on thursday evening.:S God bless me! :X
Neway, Comp maniac, be careful! U will have this syndrome if your hands are never awa y from keyboard or mouse. Repetitively applying the pressure by same unwanted posture will cause this.
Here are some exercises for u people who loves dealing with comp.
Exercise 1 - Wrist Flexion Bend the hand being exercised backward (palm away from you) with the fingers of the other hand. Apply pressure.
Exercise 2 - Wrist Extension Bend the hand being exercised forward (palm toward you) with the fingers of the other hand. Apply pressure.
Exercise 3 - Radial Deviation Place your hand palm downward. Grasp the fingers of the hand to be exercised with your other hand and twist the hand to ward you. Keep the hand horizontal.
Exercise 4 - Ulnar Deviation Place your hand palm downward. Grasp the fingers of the hand to be exercised with your other hand and twist the hand away from you. Keep the hand horizontal.
I am sure you wont want to have your hands look like this wh en it's median nerve injuries. :p
Have fun! =)
